Parsha Vayeshev
Here is last’s week’s Parsha, Vayeshev. There are three main stories, two of them connected with this week’s Parsha (Miketz): Story of Joseph and his brothers. Story of Joseph in Egypt Story of Judah and Tamar. – This is probably one of the coolest stories in the whole Tanakh! Joseph is the favourite son. He is, […]
Parsha Vayishlach
Quick entry… I’ll update it Sunday
This is the one Parsha I was dreading…
It contains my most dreaded Chapter 36. It is just a bunch of names… and more names.
In the end, the whole thing seems to be a set-up for Amalek.
Parsha Vayetzei
This week things have been hectic with work, proposals and grants and everyday things, so my maps (that someone I am calling more and more often Visualisations) are a bit behind, but I am working on it! The Story So, Vayetsei is here and we reach the second half of the Family Saga: Jacob’s Journey […]
Parshat Toldot – The stories in the text
Here are the stories from Parshat Toldot.
From the pregnancy, birthright, the return of Abimielech, Esau’s bad luck and decisions and Jacob running away to find a wife!
Parsha Toldot
Toldot, or the story of a really dysfunctional family.
There are twins, a sibling silvery, the Sister-Wife and the really important fact that there are a limited number of blessings in the desert!
And my all-time favorite:
“My birthright for a plate of lentils”!
Parshat Chayei Sarah
My blog post might be too long for you, and it is. Believe me. I wrote it! That’s why I’ve divided it into multiple parts – Parshat Chayei Sarah (this post!) – Story 29 – Burial of Sarah – Story 30 – Finding Becky – Story 31 – Isaac Meets Rebecca – Story 32 – […]
Parshat Vayera – The stories in the text
As seen in the previous post, there are many stories on this week’s Parsha. I have created smaller maps to explore and visualize them.
I have individual maps for each of the sub-stories that will be shared in a later post
Parshat Vayera
Definitely part of the Top Ten. Not my favourite, but full of known hits! There is a lot to unpack in this parsha, on each one of the stories:
The Akedah; Sarah and Isaac; Sarah and Hagar; Sodom, Gomorra and Lot; and the introduction of Rebecca in the text!
Parshat Lech Lecha
A map of Lech Lecha Parsha with and without family relations, based on the text connections in the text by verse.
Parshat Noah
Noah Parsha Map, based on the text connections in the text by verse.
Bunch of names and the children of children that begot some children.
